Isn't it just human nature to resent someone else's exultant mood when you're in a funk? I know I have resented the joy of others many-a-time, and have striven to bring them down a peg. I've also been the one brought down! It's too bad, and pretty selfish, to demand everyone share your bad mood. Maybe Liesel will instead allow herself be influenced by Kara's joy? Yeah? Maybe? (don't get your hopes up!)
